i've started this little project to give away bicycles to those who have kids and cant afford to get them a bike. i have had bikes all of my life and could not imagine a kid without a bicycle. i gave one away today and that person said their daughter was excited to get it. That makes it worth the time and effort. most of the bikes I have been restoring are 12 - 20". If you know anyone who may be interested in donating an old bike or bike parts please have them get hold of me. You can contact me here or on the site at: southernindianatrails.freehostia.com/freebikes/index.htmlThanks, Tim

Tim this is a great idea! I'll post a version of your message on my FaceBook and add the offer for me to pick up. Is there any criteria other than what's in the message you are looking for?
Thanks, Larry

I put a link on my Facebook page as well. Wish I had one of my own to give, but I got no kids and no old bikes (besides the one I ride). So I'll spread the word and try to do my part to get a few your way.

Thanks guys, it's much appreciated.
larry, Most of the requests I get are for 16 - 20" bikes.
There's a bigger window in the 20" size. 12" 2 -4 yrs 16" are good from about 4 - 8 20" can usually fill the age gap from 8-15 yrs.
Bigger bikes are fine also. there are some people looking for bikes of their own and can't really afford them. Either they want to ride to work or exercise.

Hey Tim, if you have any bikes that would work for the Boonville Bike Club, we will always take donations. I've received 2 bikes so far and have a lot of kids still without bikes that want to join. I'm willing to fix them up, so give me a holler if you have anything for us. Thanks a lot!!
