You can tell there has been more work done to the trails, some good some bad. A few more berms and jumps that were pretty cool however, I dont understand all the trees and roots that have been removed. I would have got some pics but I forgot my camera. This is the work of the YMCA for the "off-road tri" Kat and I spoke to the people at the park and it turns out that the superintendent of scales used to work for the Y and there is no real way of stopping them from dumbing down the trails for the tri as the super supposedly told them to go in and do what ever they felt needed to be done. Guess this just means we will have to get out there and build something new. anyone want to meet me out there at some point to take a look at the section kat I marked? that is of course if the Y didn't go in and screw that section up too

very nice man if we had somewhere to use this more often i would consider it for myself...i love fishers stuff and love that bomber fork...good luck with the sale also have you considered picking up a p3 frame and swapping out components? P3's can be found for pretty reasonable prices and if you needed help switching everything out give me a shout my buddy and I are working on starting up a bicycle repair shop for local cyclist.

IMPORTANT WINTER TRAIL INFORMATION PDF Print E-mail Written by griff Saturday, 29 November 2008 18:00 When soil freezes all the moisture turns to ice crystals between the particles of the soil and in clay or loam soil they are tightly packed together. As the moisture freezes the crystals expand and tear the clay apart shattering it, then as it thaws the soil become more porous and allows more moisture in. This is repeated with every successive thaw. In Indiana we can get as many as 100 freeze thaw cycles in a season. So, please be very careful when trying to ride the trails in the winter. The best time to ride is when the trail is frozen solid. On days when the temperature goes below freezing at night, the worst thing we can do is wait for the sun to come out and warm up the trail before riding. The trails can be very soft even if it hasn’t rained recently. Even if the temperature stays below freezing South facing trails can defrost in sunlight and turn to mush. If you are leaving ruts in the trail where you have ridden please leave the trail. The ruts will allow even more water to remain on the trail and make it even worse. If people see you riding they will want to ride too, so very soon the trail reaches a point of meltdown. If you would like to find out the trail conditions on your particular trail before driving there please visit: THE HMBA FORUM All of these trails are maintained by the Hoosier Mountain Biking Association and all the design, maintainance and building work is done voluntarily by local mountain bikers. If you would like to find out more about the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association and how you can help please visit: www.hmba.orgThank you for reading this notice.

they felt the need to remove logs that were structural pieces of sections of trail, removed some "debris" that made for a tighter, more technical trail. Just overall dumbed it down for the masses of the tri.
I'm hoping you were able to follow the trail as we laid it down, if you want to meet out there tomorrow to walk it to make sure i'm free all day

it was set up for both directions and I put the climbs in there to add some difficulty to the trail. Though scales has the technical aspects i think it's lacking some of the endurance geared features such as long sustained climbs. I also wanted this trail to be hard enough to make the stronger riders want to get off the main trail in the middle of the climb with the picnic table and shoot over to this section. I also wanted it to be difficult enough that the Y doesn't even consider touching it as we all saw what they did to "help" out there last year.

we haven't said anything to the park yet...just "went for a hike" with some marking tape made a line of old trail and existing deer trail and wanted to get some opinions from other riders before we pursued the park cause we don't want to waste their time if the line we set up isn't going to work

hey daniel, the section of trail we are working on is on the back side of the lake, i think the nearest campsite is 245, that could be wrong though we have it marked from the road to a spot that it would intersect the main trail we just want a second, thhird and fourth opinion before we go any further.
If you would want to meet out there and take a look at it with me email me at marshall21205@yahoo.com or call me at 925-3807 I get out of work at 3, not sure what your hours are but if anything would work I would love to show you what we've got I believe it's one ridge after the Tri running trail if you're driving in from the front gates
