Is anyone planning on traveling to Versailles for the xterra or the mountain bike race this weekend. My fiancee and I are headed that way tomorrow afternoon. Doing the xterra Saturday morning. Also, usually ride at Scales, New Harmonie and LBL and didn't get to pre-ride VSP. Wondering if anyone can give me feedback on the 14 mile loop?

I haven't been there but the trail is an "Alex Stewart" creation.... More established then Harmonie and much like Brown county. have you been to the HMBA forums in the Versailles thread? Maps, topo, pics, and discussion topics are at the ready... www.hmba.org/smf/index.php?board=28.0

thanks for the info. to all. Marshall, i think I passed you and your wife on the trails this week at Scales. I was on the orange trek going the opposite way you were. Hope to see you at versailles. Good luck and have fun. Remember, if you don't crash you're not going fast enough.

Was rained out Saturday morning at VSP xterra. Still in depression. Road 5 miles Friday night after check-in. Track is awesome - you can fly on that dirt. Wish I could have raced it but rescheduling to this weekend. Won't be able to make the trip again. Too far away. They said they were cancelling the mtnbike races on Sunday? I bet the trails were ridable Sunday. Got dumped an inch of rain at 5am the morning of the race. Said there was big water standing in places. I was willing to swim through the mud puddles but they said no

"Postponement AGAIN!
The Triathlon and MTB races at Versailles have been postponed AGAIN due to significant rainfall this morning. We strive to protect the trails and the safety of DINO participants and volunteers. We are currently determining the best plan of action and will post it here once a decision is made. Please check this website and/or the DINO Hotline (317-336-7553) for any changes to the status of the Versailles events."
Youngers in Etown is still on as far as I know. Its reminds me of a Plateau. The trail begins with a series of switchbacks leading you to the top. Once on the flat top the trial twist and turns for several miles then you decend back down to the parking lot via another set of switchbacks.
Aug 9 is Waverly in Louisville. Its a must. Hopefully, Versailles does not reschdule for the same day.
