Yes, I have one that I put on my helmet and one on the bar. It is not hard to ride faster then your light can see. The light needs to be brighter then most commuter lights because the trail has more things to see then most roads.
Good lights are not cheep, but I have heard of people making their own for a decent price.
Night riding is a great experience.

How are the hills out there? The longest climb I've done was the ride up to the microwave antenna at LBL. It almost killed me and I had to stop to catch my breath a couple times, but I had one hell of a runner's high at the top. ;D

There are a few long ones, but they are not steep. They are all middle ring climbs.
The road climbs are a different story! WOW!

It is! I plan on doing a night ride there tonight! It should be interesting riding schooner in the dark. Did you really ride Schooner in the dark? Was it mentally less challenging than in the day because you cant see it as well? Ha. We rode it last weekend. I havent walked a bike that much in years. Very impressive trail and a very humbling experience.

Actually no we did not, but he normally does. We got started much later then planned so we skipped it because of time reasons. I did ride the new entrance to Schooner.
It was very foggy and wet, so it was probably better that we skipped it.

Had a great time at Brown county, weather was great for camping and riding. What a great set of trails. Rode out from the campgrounds to the north gate parking area and back. The ride back was a little more work than coming down. The climb back up to Hesitation point goes on 4ever. Only things I didnt care for was the leaves on the trail, had to be a bit more cautious at times. Second would be pulling of to the side to let groups of riders go by. If i did it once I did it 60 times. Over all it was a great weekend of riding. cant wait to get back next year.
