Rode all the trails tonight. Trails were perfect, only 3 or 4 soft spots total. Too bad it's supposed to rain the next few days. There were a lot of leaves covering the new section probably about a 1/4-1/2 mile in. I actually lost the trail twice tonight.
The new cut trail looks great Tim! Thats the biggest root I have ever seen. I'm not sure exactly what turn you are talking about but everything looked good to me. The only part I want to work on is the part before the trails end sign where the trail slopes down then back up around the topside of the tree. At the bottom of this turn you are carrying speed from both directions and the trail needs to be built up a little more, maybe build a small berm. I will get to it next work day.

Torrential rain fell in Harmonie throughout the afternoon. The trails are closed and will stay closed at least through the weekend. The six mile road loop would be good ride if the weather clears up. Its got a nice hill in it...

Tim, I bet you stopped riding the trail when the mud balled up so much, it locked up your wheels. (I found clods of dirt that had a nice, smooth indention about the size of a fork tube about a quarter mile in on the Sycamore trail - oddly enough, they were located where the ruts ended)

Thanks, guys. I enjoy the work and the friendships.
The trails are definitely too wet to ride. Good news is they're trying to dry out today. May be good by Thursday. Rain expected Friday, though.

The trails are tacky and can be ridden. There probably are a few soft spots - I didn't get a chance to cover all of the trails, so there may be debris on them. Plan on riding them tomorrow around 11 am to check them out (and have fun).
Daniel, get that 'dale 29er out tomorrow even if you have to ride in the dark. The trails should be perfect later tomorrow. I'd be there but have to go to Louisville tomorrow evening.

Rode all the trails today removing debris and a few felled logs. Only had to use the saw three times, so not too bad. The trails are really good now. Unfortunately, the rail will come tomorrow closing them down for the weekend.
There are a few "fall line" ruts forming on both Sycamore and Walnut - probably because of the torrential rain last week - but they aren't deep or dangerous. I'll concentrate on fixing these sections next week if the weather allows.

Think I might try to get out there tonight and get a ride in before the rain.

I got in a good ride tonight. Trails were perfect! I'm really surprised at how well they are handling all this rain we have been getting. They actually seemed fast to me unlike a week ago when they felt spongy, although that could just be my new 29er that I rode for the first time tonight. I rode to the trails end sign. That new section is getting better and better each time I ride it. It was a little scary when I got to the end and I heard coyotes howling all around me.
