I rode the Intermediate trail at Harmonie for the first time today and I gotta say to rocks. I actually feel more comfortable riding it than the beginner trail, the intermediate trail seemed easier to me. I'm not sure why it seem easier, I am by no means a intermediate level rider, and my bike is very low budget, and stock. A little on the trail conditions, it was dry and no muddy sections, terra firma was nice and hard packed, the bridges had no moss or algae on them. Well that's about it, look'n forward to seeing you all out there.

Welcome!!
I would have to agree. It's a really fast flowing trail.
The HMBA has done great work where ever they have been. Indiana has, by far, some of the best MTB trails anywhere in the midwest.

Just got back for Harmonie this morning and the trail is great, rode the whole thing, and it was a blast, the down hills were wicked fun, and the up hills, well not so fun for a fat guy. Some muddy spots and a few branches across the trail, I mean trees, actual trees that have fallen across the trail, really big trees. Tomorrow I'll probably head out there in the morning with the saw and try clear the trail. Well chat at you all later, and mabye I'll see some of you out there tomorrow morning, later.

Well, looks like I wont be going out tomorrow morning as I have been reminded that you need to attend a special class on operating a chain saw in order to operate one in a state park. Woops, that would have been probably an expensive ticket, thanks K for saving my bacon. Sizzle you all later.

I'm assuming you were going to clear trails ?
It's all good...
sometimes we take for granted what we think is a no brain activity. I have a video of how they clear trails with the big giant croscut saws. it's a skill that is usually handed down from one to another. They had a few techniques that I was able toapply to chain saw use.
One of those things where you just go "I'll be damned"
I wish I had one of those saws, they are much more efficient and quicker on the bigger trees . I have a little babyone and I love it. It can rip through a 4" branch in 4 cuts.
Take the class, if anything you will have an understanding of their rules and what they expect.
