I have been trying to think of ways to get the word out about the site and get more local riders to join. I did an advanced member search of the popular mtbr.com site for evansville members and it turned up 34 members just in evansville. I shot out a quick email/pm inviting them to join our new site. I figured if even 2 or 3 of them join it would be worth it. BTW, if you are a member of mtbr you may have got the email. Any other suggestions on how we can bring more local riders to the site?

Marshall mentioned a flyer at the Burdette park bmx track but I have not set up any groups here for bmx yet.
If I did flyers, I would do it at the local shops also. Not sure I would do anything for road riding, seems to be an elite group of it's own. I don't know anything about bmx and I'm still not sure if I want to incorporate it here.
I think I have 7 or 8 members and that's more than I ever expected to get when I started this gig.
I'm still thinking about writing an article for the paper. I might send it to the indiana outdoors magazine also. They have ask me to submit articles before. Worth a shot I guess. Fairly large exposure.
Never really thought much about it. Learning as I go I guess. I appreciate the effort and the input.

oops. I put BMX into the Where we Ride section, at least BMX racing at Burdette...... I figured that if a BMX'er wanted to post in the Where we ride, the Evansville/ Vanderburgh other spot would be ok... If this is not appropriate just delete it. also- I added threads to the topics... I'm not trying to hi jack the site, just wanted to help out in organizing. Hope it's ok Tim. -Kyle

From Daniel : Any other suggestions on how we can bring more local riders to the site?
I've got 4 from Greyville IL, but they don't have I net. That's about to change tho... I'll have all the 4 of the EMA bike team folk join up, and if I ever get the damn kiosk roof up at Harmonie I'll be sure to get flyers up out there too.

Tim- I do hope that you will allow some elements of BMX into the site, as I was hoping that the forum can be the dugout for discussion regarding Bike Park.... The bmx (both race and more so the street/dirt jump guys) community young and old are a vital part of the concept. It'll only stengthen your site.. yes? Please allow just a mini bitti bit of BMX?! Imagine your youngest asking you for cake.... Pweeze dad let me have just a bit of cake?! Same concept. Only I have a beard and like single malt scotch.

another possible thing might be to make some vinyl decals for bike frames or car windows (or really where ever members want to put them) that have the logo and the URL on them...you never know when the guy in the car behind you is into the same thing as you or the dad walking his 2 kids at scales has an old mtn bike that he would love to dust off and hit the trails if he just had some one to ride with.
