I definitely noticed some smoothening when I was out there the other day. On the plus side, there are a lot of cool new features out there. The banked corner right after the ladder bridge drops is a lot of fun. Much better than tiptoeing over the roots that are in that corner. I carried so much momentum I almost launched myself into a tree at the exit.  |

Does anyone ride this trail at night or do they close the park down at night. if they do is there any other way to get on the trails after dark?

I rode it a few times at night this year. From what Ive heard they don't like people riding there at night. When I rode there at night it was in the fall and the park was still open late. Now that it's winter season I think they close the front gate at like 4:30. Ive parked at the elementry school a couple blocks west of the park and rode in from there before. You can hop on that gravel trail by those condos and ride in from there. You can also park at the backside of the park next to that small cemetary on Bawel rd.

Does anyone have any information about the Thursday rides at Scales Lake? Saw something about it on Brecks FB page. They said they meet at 6:15 but I don't know if it's a.m. or p.m.

The EMBA should be riding at 6pm on Thursday. Not sure if I'll make it this week though.

Please be aware that the park staff at Scales Lake is beginning to crack down on after hours riding after they received some concerns from the county insurance agent. They will be patrolling the parking areas outside of the park and recording license plate numbers. I'm not sure what they can do with license plate numbers, but they have proposed banning people from the park who are caught parking in these spots a second time.
We are working with them to clear up this mess and to make after hours riding legal if you have a season pass. The park will begin to close later starting this weekend and I will post the exact hours soon. If anyone else knows the hours and dates they extend the hours, please post them. In the meantime, do what you've gotta do to get a ride in. I already told them that's how we roll!
