Located on Evansville's East side on the grounds of the Angel Mounds State Historic SiteDirections: Take US 41 through Evansville. Turn east onto Riverside Drive. Follow Riverside and take a left onto Pollack Avenue. Continue East on Pollack to the overpass for I-164. Just past the overpass take a right and a quick left into parking area. Head down the levee (See Map) till you come to the trail entrance marked by a sign.Map Info: Google MapsTrail Map

This is the run I usually make when I go out there, i never really stray from it if possible. I guess you could call it the figure eight. Now that the trail is clear and dry, you can really "boogie" The whole loop is 4 miles flat if you count the trip down the levee trail.

Had this Old Angel Mounds photo laying around. Circa 1930's It's kind of cool to look back to the past and see what stuff looked like. Compared with today 75 years later pic, you can still see some of the natural features in both. If you look close. The slough is quite obvious..

Had a good ride tonight, trails are in great shape. it's nice to see people riding with their kids. Angel is the only place where you can really bring kids to teach them basic skills.
Kinda getting bored with loose sticks and dog crap. I also had one of those days where my legs were just crap. I usually try to keep a decent pace but I was just out of shape today.

Had a good ride today> Trails are dry and fast!! That may soon change though. They have new trail markers up, took some photos. Also stumbled across a deer with her fawn, which was kind cool because they didn't run away. Usually they just bolt away. s649.photobucket.com/albums/uu218/spiritwild1/Angel/

I was out there last night and got in a few miles. Most of it was dry and I could avoid (double back) for the parts that weren't. I did find a few branches down crossing some trails. I cleared what I could by hand. Nothing to large seemed to be down.
i did not really know the protocol for clearing, so i just moved the larger stuff that had fallen just off the trail.

Had a good ride tonight. trails are in pretty good shape. Falling leaves make it interesting. sometimes I could do without some of the damn roots though.

Trails are in good shape. Slough is flooded on the east side and unpassable.

It's still a disgusting mess out there. If anyone goes, stick to the trails around the levee. I rode the whole loop tonight and did more slogging through mud than riding. Also, some gross bastard dropped a deuce at the Y by the boat ramp. Seriously, who shits on the trail and wipes their ass with handkerchiefs?

UGH!!! Totally ate the earth out here. I swear its the hardest I have ever hit the ground in 10 yrs!! I love the cute little 4" high tree stumps hidden by the leaves. It's way more fun when you can't see it coming . ;D

I took my 11 year old for his first off road mtb ride today at Angel Mounds. We stayed north of the levee as those trails were dry. The trails on the south were mush! Hope the warmer weather and wind dry the trails out quick.
