We had a good work day and got a lot accomplished considering the heat. We are very close to connecting to the section of trail that was built earlier. I think a few of us will be able to connect it and hopefully have it done before the next work day. Then we can move on past the section that was built previously and continue on. I think there is about another 1/8mile or so marked. Also there are still a few small sections that still need benchcut and fine tuned on the section that we built during the first work day. The new section we built today looks awesome and should be a blast to ride.

What new jumps are you reffering to? I rode yesterday and I didn't notice any new ones.
Trails were dry and dusty yesterday and it was beginning to rain as I was loading up. When I was leaving it stormed like crazy so I'm sure the trails are a sloppy mess right now. Should be good to go by Sunday hopefully.

Ditto 7:30 Just curious, why the shed? I was wondering the same thing. I don't even know where the shed is.

Glad to hear that he is ok and that he was wearing a helmet. That is a pretty tricky section because it is so hard to judge your speed on that downhill before you hit that jump/hill. Just a slight change in speed can be the difference between landing smoothly on it to crashing hard. I too have been using the S berm on that section lately and actually like it better than the downhill. I never even knew that S berm was there until recently when I rode that section backwards.

Trails were super-fast for the triathlon on Saturday. They had an awesome turnout, over 100 participants, nearly twice as many as last year.

Trails were excellent yesterday afternoon. I removed 2 dead limbs that fell across the trail probably 10'' in diameter on the loop. I rode the new section of trail and I was amazed at how much better it was since the last time I rode it right after the work day. There are still a lot of areas that need bench cut and fine tuned but overall its coming along nicely. I plan to be there on the 11th.

Did anyone ever decide on a monthly trail work day? I know we were talking about the first or second Sunday of the month. Either one is fine with me but I think we need to go ahead and set something up asap so people can put it on their calanders and plan ahead. I'm going to try to make it out there soon, Ive been so busy lately with other stuff and I've been spending most of my free time riding at Scales getting ready for the triathlon which is this Saturday.
I'm all for some cool bridges and hand built structures on the trail. As for the washed out section at the bottom I think rocks would be a good idea. Either way we are going to have to haul something in and I think rocks would be pretty cool. There are plenty more areas on the trail where bridges will need to be built anyway. Rocks will mix it up a bit and add a new feature to the trails.

It would probably be benificial in breaking in the new trail to remove the log. I think logs that size are perfectly fine for the trail, just not in certain locations. There will always be more logs falling on the trail that we can decide to leave.

Trails were perfect when I rode this morning. I rode the new out and back and a few sections definetely need some work. Other than a couple sections the trail was awesome, just too short! It will be nice when we extend it to the section that is already built. When I got back to that parking lot there was an ambulance there. I thought maybe someone got hurt but they said they were getting ready to train rescue dogs there.

Im also ready to get back out there and build some more. I was thinking we should set up a weekly or biweekly trail build/ride day so we can get this thing done! Even if we don't have the turnout that we had this weekend, with just a few people working on it once a week it won't take long.
As for the trail that was cut over the weekend, I'm sure there are some sections that are going to require some fine tuning after they are ridden.
