Yeah its weird how those new swampy muddy spots just kind of come out of nowhere. Spots that never used to be a problem now are always muddy.
Anyway there were tons of people out there on Sunday. I got in a few good laps in and got one full lap filmed with my helmet cam.

The trails were in pretty good shape a year or two ago. They are really just atv trails but still fun on a mtb. I used to live by them so I rode them every once in a while. They have no trespassing signs up by the "trailhead" in the new subdivision now.

Went out to harmonie this morning. When I got there I realized I forgot my shoes. All I had were my sandals that I wore there. Anyway it wasnt that big of a deal because the loop was really a little too wet to ride anyway. I did ride the walnut trail which was in pretty good shape. It wasnt easy riding in clipless pedals with sandals but I managed. I walked the beginner loop and cleared out some branches and debris that had fallen in the trail. Surprisingly there were no down trees in the trail. I figured there would be since I saw a few down driving through the park. There were a few others out riding. I would wait until sunday to ride if you are planning on riding here this weekend. The loop had several soft spots that are going to need at least a day to dry out. The walnut connector was actually in good shape.

I'm Daniel, from Evansville. Im 25, originally from newburgh. Lived in this area my whole life. I graduated from USI two years ago with a BS in Industrail Supervision. I am currently an operations supervisor for Con-way Freight on the southside of Vincennes. I drive from the northside of Evansville each day to work which sucks. Ive been mountain biking since I was 10 or 11. I raced motocross in grade school and all through highschool and I rode mountain bikes just for training. When I finally got out of motocross I started spending more time on my mountain bike. Recently I have gotten more serious into it and have started doing some races. I ride mostly at Scales lake and new Harmonie. My favorite trails are Brown County, Canal loop at LBL, and Scales lake. Scales is what got me started riding mountain bikes and I have always loved riding there.

I have been trying to think of ways to get the word out about the site and get more local riders to join. I did an advanced member search of the popular mtbr.com site for evansville members and it turned up 34 members just in evansville. I shot out a quick email/pm inviting them to join our new site. I figured if even 2 or 3 of them join it would be worth it. BTW, if you are a member of mtbr you may have got the email. Any other suggestions on how we can bring more local riders to the site?

Love the new forum. I think eveyone will like it much better. One thing though, whats the difference between trail talk and trail report? Just wondering if we need both sections.

I will be racing there on July 26th. I have never ridden there before so I am planning on getting up there at least once to get familiar with the trails before I race on them.

As of yesterday (Wed.) the trails were in great shape with just a few of the normal low spots being a little soft, but definetely rideable. I didnt get to ride but I did walk a majority of the trails. I removed some trees that fell in the last few days.

From what I have seen they handle the water well. I have been out there a few times just a day or two after a heavy rain and the trails were great, other than just a few soft spots. These trails were built properly and should be dry and rideable before other local trails after a lot of rain. They are really shaping up nicely. They are faster and smoother everytime I ride them. I will definetley try to make it out there sometime this weekend as long as we dont get a lot of rain.
