I was at scales saturday evening making a few cuts in the trail for drainage. Trail was a little too wet to ride however I did see a few people riding. I''ll be out there Wednesday and Friday evening after work to get a few laps in. Trails should be good to go by tomorrow.

Where was the skinny that you made? I just noticed a cool one that someone made near the teeter toter. You can see it if your riding CCW after you turn right at the T past the teeter toter. The tree makes a Y so you can go either way. I would have tried it if I had my platforms on.

Trails were in excellent shape friday evening. I got there a little before 6 and got in 2 laps. You can tell there has been more work done to the trails, some good some bad. A few more berms and jumps that were pretty cool however, I dont understand all the trees and roots that have been removed. I would have got some pics but I forgot my camera. It looked like the park is back to normal hours, or open later at least. There were lots of campers and I saw two other riders on the trails. Gate was still open when I left. It looked like a peacock got in a fight with a coyote or ran over by a biker because there were feathers all over the trail just a few hundred yards in going clockwise right by that double jump. Kind of an odd site to see out on the trail. Anyway had a good ride and can't wait to get back out there. Hopefully the trails will be dry by the end of the week after all the rain we had today.

I noticed the roots that have been removed when I rode on friday. I agree that it is only going to hurt the trails. Another thing that I noticed was the amount of trees that have been removed. I dont understand why people are cutting down trees and making the trail wider. There is no way that many trees fell over the trail. parts of the trail are starting to look more like fire roads than singletrack.

Anyone rode scales lately? I was thinking about maybe trying to get out there friday after work for the first ride of the year. Looks like its going to be dry and sunny until Saturday so I am thinking the trails should be dry enough to ride by then.

How long is this trail going to be? Is it going to be a small loop off the main loop or a trail that goes from the road to the main loop?

I almost went out there for a ride yesterday. I wish I would have seen this post sooner. Where are these trails that you guys are working on?

This is what keeps me off my bike for most of the summer.

I agree, I dont think any significant jumps should be built on the main trail. However there is already a small loop that comes off the main trail around the backside of the campground and connects back with the main trail right before you come out at the petting zoo. If you are not looking you wont even notice the entrance. This trail has several good size jumps and a few drops, one over 5'. This trail still needs a lot of work to make the whole thing rideable. There are a few places that you have to walk your bike. I cleared this whole loop last spring with a weedeater but I have not been back there in a while. There needs to be some reroutes made in this trail especially towards the end but I think with a little work this trail could be awesome.
