I went out to Angel Mounds last night and it's pretty sloppy. Some spots are dry but the majority of the trail is greasy. Of course all the normal spots are swampy.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of All That Remains, Chimaira, In Flames, Disarmonia Mundi and Soilwork. I also like to cherrypick songs from various MTB videos.

My helmet creates it's own weather when it's like this. It likes to rain sweat into my eyes.

I usually have a cup of coffee and 2 Nutrigrain bars for breakfast (Schnuck's brand because they use sugar instead of corn syrup). For lunch I usually have a bowl of soup or a sandwich. I had strayed from this path for a while and started eating burgers and other fast food, but I've found that I feel a lot better in the afternoon if I have a light lunch. I usually have a terrible dinner but I've been trying to do better. I always buy a ton of those Knorr pasta packages and that's plenty for me.
I used to have a nasty energy drink habit. At one point I was up to 3 24oz Rockstars a day. I had to quit that because my heart was going to explode and it cost a fortune. Now I'm trying to drink nothing but water.
On a day I go riding I usually have a Power Bar a half hour before I hit the trail. Aside from that, nothing special.

Nice looking bike. One of my friends just bought a Gary Fisher Mullet and he's been really happy with it.

I got a bit more clearing done today. I started at the boat ramp and worked my way along the field for a while. I started seeing a lot of wasps in one spot and they started doing flybys so I got kind of freaked out and headed the other way.
I started working my way along the river trail and got a pretty good stretch cleared out. After a while I surrendered to the burning itching, sweat in my eyes, and the weedeater constantly getting vines wrapped up in it and stalling. Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped, but it's still progress.
A large branch fell on the trail next to the field. I tried to move it but I think it's gonna take a chainsaw.
Footnote: I left the trail entrance from the boat ramp overgrown until you get to the fork in the trail. I'm hoping this keeps traffic from the end of the trail down, because from past experience the people who usually walk in from down there like to leave litter all over the place.

I'm just using standard string and it's holding up pretty well. Andrew, the guy who helped me last week, had this thing I referred to as the Tri-Force that we used for the heavier sections. It has 3 little plastic/kevlar hinged blades on it.

Whoa, do I see elevation change?
I was going to head to Harmonie tomorrow but since it's soggy I'm probably going to go out and do more weedeating. I think I'm going to park at the boat ramp and work my way in.

Just curious if anyone has any video footage of themselves or friends riding. I have a ton of stuff we shot back in 2002 that I'm currently stitching into a little 5-minute video and got to thinking......it might be kinda cool to have a SIMTB 2009 video with contributions from everyone. A friend of mine has a GoPro helmet mount (or wherever else it fits) camera he said he'd let me borrow so I might try to do some shooting this year. If anyone else has anything let me know.

Well crap, I didn't even see that there was a meeting tonight. It was game 7 of the Stanley Cup though.
