Trails are perfect for the weekend. Just a few leaves in some places, but the trail is easily followed.

Started raining in the park at 8 am. The trails were starting to get too wet around 10 am. Leaves and roots are slick but the trail was still tacky then. Still raining at 11:30 am, so my guess is the trails will be too wet to ride soon. Rain is supposed to continue through the day and this evening. Good thing is no dust and its a slow steady rain w/o wind. If it stops this evening, the trails will probably be rideable by tomorrow afternoon.

Trails are damp but rideable. There were some tread marks on Sycamore but nothing deep. About three miles of the Sycamore loop has been cleaned w/ leaves and branches removed.

Rained in the park last night and this morning, but the trails are generally in good shape. A few sloppy areas on Sycamore and a couple of spots on Walnut probably wouldn't like any traffic until about noon tomorrow. Sun is supposed to be out and temps are going up. Trails ought to be in great shape for the weekend.

Okay, blame me for all this rain! My karma took a vacation. Here's how it goes.... Thought about a new bike for about six months until I decided on a new Specialized 29'er. Ordered it two months ago knowing it would be a while before it came in, but that's cool. It's the bike I wanted. Went ahead and sold the Stumpjumpber FSR when I had the chance, so I'm back on the Rockhopper (not a bad bike, but not full suspension - old bones need FS). Great weather and trail conditions for riding all Fall. Monday, the bike shop calls and says the bike might not come in until February. Seems its a popular bike, even in the "small" frame. Took the option to get the EVO R model that was in stock. Started raining yesterday about the time the bike shop called and said they were putting it together. Bike's here, and so is the rain. Over 2"! May be at least a week before I can break out the new ride at Harmonie. Sorry about that. I'll try to get back on the good side of karma by cleaning off the storm debris after the rain stops.

Sun's out, wind blowing, cool temps, wet trails - no riding on them at Harmonie today and tomorrow. Too wet to even walk to see if there were any downed trees from the storms. Freeze/thaw will be happening tonight, too. Temps stay above freezing tomorrow, so we may be able to ride Sunday. Will update tomorrow.

Still too wet - soft everywhere w/ mud in many places. No standing water, though. Supposed to freeze tonight, so suspect the trails will still be bad tomorrow. There are a lot of deer tracks and some debris on the trails.

Walked Sycamore and cleaned off debris. Probably rideable this afternoon after it dries some more. Didn't get to check the Walnut Connector, but the condition of the trail should be similar. May be some debris down on it, though.

The trails were in good shape this morning but started raining in the park around 11:30 am. Cleaned off Walnut - three small trees had fallen across it. Forecast calls for more rain today and tomorrow, so the trails will probably be too wet for a while.

We are definitely in a freeze/thaw pattern at HSP. The trails were too soft at 1 pm today. I left footprints just walking in to check them. They froze last night. Compounding the issue is the trails never got a real chance to dry out after the rail earlier this week. They probably won't firm up this afternoon due to an overcast sky and temps just hovering above freezing. Going to try to get a ride in early tomorrow before they thaw. Will update after that.

From 7 am to about 8:30 am the trails were really good. There was a frost layer on top of them that crunched, but it wasn't slick. The trails started thawing out and there were some really soft sections by 9 am. My tires started caking up w/ mud, so I abandoned the trail. Sun is out now and I suspect the trails will dry out a lot by this afternoon. Worth giving it a shot if you're not driving a long distance. Did a lap on the road to finish up - not bad.
